Style Bee - Time and a Trench Coat

At times my pursuit of happiness ends up making me unhappy. I get too easily fixated on the things I haven’t done, achieved or become and I forget to stop and appreciate what I have accomplished. I don’t mean to say I should be patting myself on the back more or letting my head swell but that I should allow myself some occasional contentment. I started out my second year of blogging with the quote “Good Things Take Time.” and it seems that lately I’ve forgotten this little piece of wisdom.

We’re constantly surrounded by reminders that we ‘need’ more, whether it’s more travel, more clothes, more money or more notoriety but it’s in the moments when I switch it all off and take a deep breath that I’m reminded of how much I have to be happy about already. This week I’m setting a new goal, which is to embrace those moments more and try to let the stress of all my plans take a back seat. Wish me luck!

Great post love. You are far too hard on yourself. I’m constantly amazed by all the things you’re able to do, and how expertly you can do every one of them. Keep it up and remember to smile, breathe and move slowly. It’s just life (I should probably take my own advice). Miss you big time! xo

Aw thanks so much Kate! I know you share my multi-tasking, over-achieving ways so I really appreciate your support and positivity. You’re my little blonde gem! I miss you lots xoxo

I relate to this post so much today. I’ve spent the last couple years studying and working towards something I’ve recently realized I don’t want at all, and starting over is seeming very terrifying and it’s hard to not compare yourself and wish you had more or done more. Great outfit! Does Everlane have a lot of extra fees for shipping to Canada? I’d love to splurge on that blouse and the weekender… (even though I shouldn’t!)

Hi Amie, Glad you can relate. Sometimes we need to go down a path to really know it’s not the right one, otherwise you’ll always wonder where it would have led. I’m sure the right course will present itself, just keep working hard and following your instincts. Everlane calculates all shipping and taxes as you add items to the cart so it’s easy to see what you’re paying for. I actually prefer when companies do this so I don’t get any surprises at the post office. Thanks for your comment lovely lady! xo
